In 2007, Dr. Goodman embarked on a life changing experience. He moved to Tokyo, Japan to pursue his martial arts training. During this time, he also studied Japanese language and culture at Nihon University. Focusing more on traditional Japanese martial arts or Koryu, Dr. Goodman trained in Shinto Muso Ryu, working with numerous high level martial artists in a variety of disciplines.

Dr. Ryan Goodman with Osato Sensei, a Sekkotsu (traditional Japanese art of bone-setting practitioner). It is with Osato Sensei that Dr. Goodman received his introduction into spinal manipulation.
After spending 2007 in Japan, Dr. Ryan Goodman then traveled to South Korea. It is in South Korea, that he re-focused his training on boxing, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts. In 2009, he fought for the Deep/CMA Heavyweight Title in Tokyo Japan, during the Japanese Thanksgiving holiday. Unfortunately, he was bested, and went on to an overall MMA record of 4-2.


Throughout his time living in Asia, Dr. Goodman would visit Thailand many times and staying there anywhere from 1 - 3 months at a time. In Thailand, he focused mainly on training in Muay Thai. This experienced allowed him to work with numerous world champions in boxing and kickboxing.

Currently, Dr. Ryan Goodman, Palm Harbor Chiropractor, has taken his athletic background to work with numerous collegiate and professional athletic organizations.
